  This is a gorgeous Persian Sarouk carpet woven in pure wool. Sarouk is a village in the Arak region in the northwest of Iran. The area is known for its agricultural activities as well as its carpet productions. Sarouk weavers favor the classic medallion design, and these carpets are often beautifully ornamented with arabesque designs which are extremely decorative. Borders, in comparison, are usually quite simple. This is a good example of a hard wearing and durable Sarouk carpet woven with fine knotting. A beautiful carpet for a beautiful home.
