This is a beautiful tribal
Persian Bakhtiari panel design carpet woven in pure wool. Bakhtiari
carpets are made by a tribe living in the South of Mahallat,
between the cities of Hamadan and Isfahan. They are dyed almost
exclusively with vegetable colors and are of medium quality.
These Bakhtiari carpets fall into two groups, the first of which
can be described as ,tribal, and the second as ,workshop, weavings.
This wonderful panel design carpet is a good example of the
triable Bakhtiari weavings and it is extremely durable and hard
wearing. A very charming carpet for an informal and warm decoration.
